Matt Blott
Matt joined GRP in 2018 as an investment analyst where he performs extensive case research. Matt also works alongside legal economists in the application of damages modelling and quantum assessments.
Prior to GRP Matt has five years analyst experience working in the financial services industry, principally in corporate finance in both debt and equity transactions, including private debt, equity and venture capital style investments, through to pre-IPO and IPO funding raisings. Similarly, Matt has also worked as a research analyst with a focus on the technology and healthcare sectors.
Matt grew up in Hong Kong before attending school and university in the UK where he studied History at Newcastle University, graduating in 2012. Since then, Matt has gained graduate experience at buy-side investment funds specialising in distressed situations across the capital structure before joining VTC Capital, a boutique investment firm focused on growth capital transactions in the technology sector.
Throughout his career Matt has worked on numerous projects simultaneously requiring constant on-the-job learning in a range of complex disciplines. Matt is also a CFA charterholder, having passed all three exams on first attempt. He is currently enrolled on several Python programming courses to help build on his research and modelling skillset.
Outside of work Matt is a keen sportsman having competed in numerous endurance events around the world, including two 20km Rottnest Channel Swim crossings in Australia. Matt has also travelled widely, particularly in Asia and the Himalaya mountains where he has completed several expeditions, namely in Zanskar and Bhutan.
