Mark Agate
Mark has over 15 years’ experience in the legal industry; including in venture capital and growth businesses in and around the legal sector; built upon a solid institutional city background.
With an academic background in research and analysis he began life at Allen & Overy, focusing on banking and finance law. Mark then went on to do a post grad in sports law and took an early seat in Spring Law, leading several acquisitions, disposals, raises and restructurings and large commercial contract negotiations for clients. He then launched his own advisory business in 2012, working with John and Matt on a range of capital markets and venture capital transactions. These included the creation and further innovation of an alternative business structure law firm and the addition of a nuanced emerging markets transaction business with Luke and Robin in 2016.
Having been involved in such a very broad and comprehensive range of businesses from start-up phase to the well-established and within both a regulated and an unregulated sphere, Mark is extremely well placed to chart and guide GRP’s trajectory on a legal and transactional basis, to understand and share risk, whilst looking to the right deal for our clients and is passionate in helping the people behind them succeed.
Chief Administrative Officer
Mark oversees the running of the business and the teams working closely on both origination and execution.
Out of the office, Mark has always spent a lot of time in North America playing sport to a reasonable level and continues to be involved in supporting several educational and sporting charities and foundations.
