Robin Newman
Robin spent 28 years in equity capital markets specialising in equity distribution, corporate finance and fund raisings; much of this career was spent in Asia where Robin developed trusted global relationships with significant regional interest.
Robin made his mark in finance at Midland Bank in London, moving to Samuel Montagu in Singapore before a successful experience at the helm of WI Carr in Jakarta. Here, Robin was propelled into management of global emerging markets businesses. He ran Asian Equities at Citigroup in London before moving to Barclays Capital where he headed their Asian and Global Emerging Markets distribution business out of Singapore.
Many of the small companies that Robin was responsible for listing have now grown into regional leviathans and many of the controlling families have become very close relationships. After leaving Barclays Robin wanted to apply his financial skills in a more entrepreneurial way and developed his unique network of relationships within the alternative asset sphere. This, coupled with Robin’s extensive and deep client network in the US institutional asset management space, have proven invaluable in building out a new and innovative financial business in the legal industry. It is here where through mutual connections he met John and discovered a shared desire to apply experience and skill sets to the future of Litigation Funding.
Founder and Chief Executive
As Chie Executive Robin manages the business, reports to the board, and oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Robin’s career has been founded on a combination of an extremely keen eye for detail and the fixation on developing long-term relationships with clients and colleagues alike. He has the rare ability to pick talent, incentivise and successfully delegate responsibilities - vastly improving team performance. All of which he is greatly enjoying deploying in the litigation funding industry.
Outside of work Robin loves to hang out in Bali or France where he has houses that he built from scratch, watching West Ham, playing tennis, driving cars or boats and of course, working on the next architectural plan.
